My cat got diagnosed with this at birth, we had him amputated for fear that he’d get bullied, now he has no limbs.

So don’t wish upon a star, like the star your dreams are already dead.

False. Dead stars are not bright enough to be seen by the untrained and naked eye. When the star dies, it loses hydrogen and helium and therefore, CANNOT generate enough temperature to fuse carbon which is necessary to create a Planetary Nebula. Planetary Nebulae are the birthplace of stars which ALSO cannot produce enough light to be seen by the untrained and naked eye. Stars themselves shine by a means of Nuclear Fusion. This specific type of nuclear fusion is one of the main reasons why we can see a star at night. It’s obviously very bright.

When we look at a star, MUCH more often than not, the star is in its main sequence which is another name for the life cycle of a star. These “dead stars” CANNOT be seen with the naked eye (trained or untrained). IN THEORY, there really is no such thing as a dead star. After a star runs out of the gases necessary to burn, it explodes into a super nova which then collapses in on itself to from a black hole.
